What accomplishment(s) are you most proud of?
I am proud to drive around the Chicago area and see a lot of the buildings I was involved in as a carpenter or PM, in the erecting and/or renovating. It gives me a sense of pride.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
Carpenter, in construction. I was always building things starting at the age of 6. My grandmother and I would build tables that would stand for a few hours. Shelving in the garage that to this day is still holding. Doing miscellaneous carpentry, electrical and plumbing repairs around the house since my dad was not around. Construction was always in my blood. My house today, built my deck (40’x50’) in the backyard and redid the front deck and new roof as well without help, completely renovated/gutted my kitchen and installed a kitchen in the basement to hold us till I finished and bought 2 houses and renovated them and sold them, again without help.
Who is someone you admire, and why?
My mom, she raised a family of 7 boys and 3 girls after my father left us. OUCH!!!!!
Beach or mountains, and why?
I am definitely a mountain person, winter. The sun is not kind to me, and I can’t handle the high temperatures.
What’s something the team doesn’t know about you?
I was hit by a car when I was 5, minor damage as my parents said, just needed a couple of bandages. I was bit by a bear in Yellowstone National Park when I was 6 years old, no stitches just got back in car and continued the family vacation. I was burned in a fire when I was 7, 1 week in hospital.
