This project renovated approximately 1,000 s.f of existing clinical space to support a new hybrid operating room for Norton Healthcare in Louisville, KY. The existing room previously contained an antiquated interventional MRI system and was completely encased in 2” of steel on six sides. The existing system was constructed on raised access flooring over a deep crawl/sump area requiring geo-foam fill and new floor slab throughout. The steel box was left in place, but heavily modified successfully in the clinical environment. H&H Design-Build provided Architectural Design, Equipment Coordination, Construction Documents, Preconstruction Services, Construction Management and Contract Administration services. Major medical equipment included a Philips Hybrid OR System with full integration of multiple visual displays with 5 Steris medical booms.
